@neko Yeah my spouse had to summon me somewhere around midnight because I went into puzzle-solving mode.

“Infrastructure as Code” introducing me to a new flavor of dependency hell.

For business communication I still prefer TIAS to FAFO but I’m old-fashioned like that.

Getting work done and meanwhile that other part of my brain is fiddling with the fidget toy and going “you know they’re all block-based editors when you think about it.”

Well as long as it’s keeping busy.

Admitting that sometimes when neurodivergent folks talk it’s like someone’s fiddling with our playback speed.

1x oh this bit’ll bore them 1.25x god this is a lot 1.5x oh no folks look confused 0.5x

#HelpfulHint: when someone needs my attention and I’m in the middle of something thinky — but I know they really need my attention — I put a little “YOU ARE HERE” line in my notes.

Such as “YOU ARE HERE: trying to log into AWS”

It’s been a lifesaver I tell you what.

@ElectricDryad Oh yay that’s fantastic!

@ElectricDryad If there’s one thing we couldn’t possibly have too much of it’s shiny toys to manage all the things.

Have you looked at Capacities? It shows some promise as a maybe-someday Notion replacement. It’s already much better at the journaling thing. Types and collections are very nice too.

@ElectricDryad notable gaps compared to things I like in Notion: no formula calculations, simple tables, or Mermaid diagrams.

OTOH defining a “ticket” type and creating one inline in my daily note with /ticket/DEMO-001 is better than I’ve managed with Notion!

@ElectricDryad It’s in my rotation. I’ll be sure to mention if things get exciting ^_^

I feel like an undercurrent of dissatisfaction with all PKMs I try is basically they can’t do as much as Org mode. They implement (up to) half of it, awkwardly. Sort of a variation on Greenspun’s tenth rule.

But they’re very pretty.

Grumbling aside, I feel like I could turn Trilium or SiYuan into a nice lovely Org-like.

Though it would take roughly the same amount of effort as just committing to Emacs+Org.

Trying denote.el for a change of pace. It’s nice! Wouldn’t be surprised if I use that file naming scheme for some other ideas.

(minibuffer placement is a nano-emacs thing)

Emacs showing a single frame split into views of the note folder, a journal note, a linked note about denote, and a backlink list; note filenames clearly indicate timestamp, title, and keywords
