@web_goddess That was roughly my opinion as well. My friends saw it for Lori Petty or love of the comic. Unfamiliar with either, I went in for Ice-T. Honestly most of us enjoyed it at the time but goodness it was very much of a specific time and place. Aged like milk.

@socketwench I want to quibble on the femme identification part of it, but you’re not wrong. The folks they want all fit under descriptives that are absolutely masculine coded in our culture. Things like “confident,” “assertive,” “driven,” “unfettered by reality.” I know these things are masculine-coded because if a woman is any of these she’s treated as unfeminine and all sorts of pejoratives I won’t repeat. So they won’t want a woman with those traits.
And also admitting sure I’m cis, but raised by a single mom who was raised by a single dad in a bloodline consisting almost entirely of neurospicy means gender’s very DIY in our family. So a lot of traits I decided were the kind of man I want to be are traits tagged as feminine in mainstream culture. Including behaviors that trickle down to a more cautious approach when job hunting. So uh yeah carry on.

Well due to the minor unfolding situation, I can no longer consider my car safe to drive.
OTOH it wasn’t technically okay to drive before — it had no catalytic converter when we bought it, and we needed a pro to make it stop showing Prius engine warning hieroglyphics. But the vintage Prius warning hieroglyphics are back and the car ain’t worth how much it would cost to make them go away again.
Technically I can still drive it, but even my common sense is tingling.
So hopefully a car sometime soon. One that’s not legal drinking age.
