I find the dark sky ordinance genuinely awesome, though it was a little disorienting after living in urban areas that routinely had enough street light to read by. You could only see two stars and maybe Venus, but you could read.

So many more stars out here.

@thegibson good. I can feel your anger. It is defenseless. Take your weapon! Key that piece of shit with all your hatred, and it’ll be sweet.

Oh sure something something dark side. I just want to see the owner of that misquoting trapper keeper wrapped tonka toy suffer.

@maddiefuzz @thegibson an elegant reference from a more civilized age

(checks earpiece)

Enjoyed a visit to Sabino Canyon with @IamMrsGeek

We did not hike. That is not a thing we do. We enjoyed a tour bus, walked for a few minutes, and enjoyed the serenity. So much serenity.

Use YYYY/MM/DD style journal names, make a subpage under YYYYY/MM/DD/Something, come up with a datalog query looking for pages with names that start with the current journal name, filter columns to the ones you care about —

and honestly wait for the app to screw something up

so maybe not

but it was a fun experiment in making Logseq pretend journals and pages were in the same namespace.

@genehack @jocafa@mastodon.social @m there is some weirdness between hackers.town and mastodon.social due to dot social doing a buggly deploy a few years back so that jocafa’s account looks suspended from here.

The fix is a one account a time thing, so I’ll go nudge my admin.

hackers.town: 2024-09-07 Sat 16:47

@genehack @m (and due to them looking suspended, they get cut out of the thread so might not see that reply)

hackers.town: 2024-09-07 Sat 16:48

@thegibson

Sir? Would you mind jiggling the database handle for @jocafa@mastodon.social please?

hackers.town: 2024-09-07 Sat 18:37

@m @genehack @jocafa re: https://mastodon.social/@jocafa/113098964501656036 which I still can’t reply to directly.

Yah you’ve been on dot social all that time. Most of their damage as an instance has been ripple effects on everybody else, mainly from acting like the most important instance of the most important ActivityPub server platform.

doing some sort of reverse mitosis with some of my notes where at one point I split a distinct subtopic note out of a topic, then never did anything with it for several months to a few years, so now I pull it back into the main topic note for noise reduction.

@bitprophet I figured I might make somebody else feel better if I said it out loud.
