I’m very strict about Barry and Jack being indoor kitties. Lost too many cats as a kid, to wildlife or the sort of neighbors who would eventually do federal time.

I gave up on Linux distro evangelism a long time ago, once I recognized the Tolstoy Effect: every distro was terrible in its own way.
I got way less enthusiastic about Linux and open source in general when I realized its primary function is to exploit volunteer labor for cloud services and smartphones. (maybe not its purpose, but a system is what it does)
Do I still prefer Linux to other operating systems, and FOSS to other software licensing approaches? Sure, I guess. Do I care as much as I did in say 1998? God no.

@masukomi I think I’m filed under “demi” maybe, and my first clue there was my partners defined the mono / poly status of the relationship. I was fine, long as I was with them and knew the rules.
So I’ve never been one to question somebody’s current relationship status vs their broader inclinations.
